One Wish

A girl with a face of an angel found an old man on the street.
He was known for granting wishes to those in need.
The girl walks up to the old man and says,
“Grant me a wish, for I am in need of one.”
The old man replies, “What might that wish be?”
The girl says, “I wish to die.”
The old man asked her, “Is your life so horrible, you wish for me to end it?”
Nodding her head vigorously, the girl replied, “Yes”

The old man agreed to grant her wish, with one condition. She was to explain the reason why she wished for her life to end. And so the angel began….

My life is a living horror.
I put a smile on my face, yet you will never see a smile in my eyes. I have no emotion what so ever because of that man.
I have black and blue everywhere but my face.
The lies that come from his mouth every day,
“It’s the last time, I swear.”
Never do I let him have pleasure,
I make no sound, what so ever.
As his powerful fist hits my back,
I lay there with no emotion to share or even care.
I feel dead already.
I’m only waiting for my heart to stop beating, and then I will be completely at peace.

The old man was not shocked from what he was just told.
He asked her, “Why do you ask for death for yourself and not for him?
The girl with the face of an angel replies, “I Am Not Evil.”
